ktvu's jade hernandez live in oakland where that young boy is being treated tonight and she has new information on just where this gunfire came from. >> reporter: hartsfield-jacksoni cs threw that 7-year-old boy to the hospital earlier this evening. we have whopper video of the helicopter arriving as children as hospital. hospital antioch police a the little boy is going to be all right. police are concerned how the shooter wound this boy. investigator say someone fired multiple gunshots into this home around 4:30 this afternoon during a family bbq. the 7-year-old was visiting with his family from out of town. no one else was hurt. investigators say the shooter fired the rounds from an area near the g street over crossing which can be seen from the backyard area. police have not made any arrest, but since thursday, oakland, richmond and now antioch have shyoung children rushed to children's hospital with gunshot wound. for now, antioch police are investigating this particular incident, but the good news is that little boy is going to be all right. >>> a tearful scene in sonar's miss

of killing one man and injuring another was arrested in oakland after an eight hour police stand off. the s.w.a.t. team surrounded the home on 26th avenue near international boulevard early this morning. in search of the gunman who they say opened fire a few blocks away. six people came out of the house during the stand off by 8:00 this morning the shooting suspect had surrendered. police were alerted to the system after the shooting victims were driven to the hospital. >>> seven men from sacramento county are recooperating tonight. police say the victims were shot as they were leaving a family gathering in the city of galt at around 10:30. witnesses on the scene tell investigators say saw somebody open fire from a passing car. a neighbor says this is not the first time violence has erupted in his neighborhood. >> crazy. we had some incident about five years ago when they had a shooting in the other corner. >> officials say the shooting may have been gang related. all of the victims are expected to survive. >> investigators are looking into whether reckless driving led to a fiery and fatal

on a house in the oakland hills. it happened around 3:30 this morning on oakwood drive, the tree estimated to be 75 foot tall crashed down on the corner of the roof. the downed tree also brought traffic on oakwood drive to a stop. firefighters say they do not know what caused that tree to fall. >>> an investigation is underway into a crash involving a scooter and a santa clara county sheriffs patrol car. the accident happened before 12:30 this morning in the area of west heading street and the alameda. investigators are trying to determine if one of the drivers may have run a red light. two people on the it scooter were taken to the hospital but their injuries are not believed to be serious. the deputy in the patrol car was not hurt. the vehicle sustained damage to the right front bumper. a couple of san francisco police cars will be out of action after an unusual crash. officers were investigating an argument on the 4000 block of mission street. police say pickup truck sideswiped a patrol car, sending it into a second police car. witnesses say officers had to scramble to avoid getting hit

certified staff positions. and 43 teacher aids. oakland unified will cut 65 administrators. and 11 non-tenured teachers. alum rock is giving out 87 notices in total. 78 of those are to teachers. antioch is cutting 13 teachers. redwood city. 8 certified positions maybe eliminated. this includes school nurses and counselors. and when i called the following districts on your screen. all them told me no pink- slips were sent out. this is for fremont, san jose unified school district, walnut creek and to palo alto unified school district. while some districts said the reason for planning to cut or not cut jobs had to do with declining or increasing enrollment. another part of this. is prop 30. it prevented a 5-billion dollar cut to schools. and provides more funding for schools during the next seven years. school district told me that has made it possible for districts to more confidently budget for next year. these staff members who got pink slips will not necessarily lose their jobs -- some of them will move into other positions in the district. when the state budget picture is clearer. >

tonight about the arrests made during last week's crime sweep in oakland. police tell us they arrested 17 people as part of the violence reduction program known as operation cease-fire. police believe most were gang members. those arrested are between 18 and 35 years old. most face charges related to having or using a gun as well as conspiracy to commit a crime. >>> fire investigators in antioch are trying to determine the cause of a house fire later today. it happened at h, and 4th streets just before 5:30 this evening. firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames pouring out of the victorian home. they said the fire started in a rear bedroom. the sole resident wasn't there at the time of the home. damage is estimated at $200,000. >>> in solano county, investigators stopped fires burning along red top road in fairfield. there were no injuries reported. authorities did search a nearby hillside, but were not able to find a shirtless man who was reportedly seen holding a gas can right after the fire started. >>> musicians with the san francisco symphony are on strike today. they walked off
